Until this past weekend, my front porch had not been given any autumn love. I always feel a little guilty if I neglect the fall season because my mom is the queen of autumn. It is her favorite time of year, and that cool weather loving soul puts up a fall wreath September 1st!
So in honor of mom, I finally ventured out to get my mums. I kept seeing these shiny black pots with white mums all throughout the nursery and I just loved the look. Needless to say, those containers were not cheap. So instead I headed to Home Depot to buy a can of glossy black spray paint. Please note the pots below...clearly I have a green thumb. They needed a makeover, so the girls and I went to work spraying. We covered up the dirt with plastic bags, because we were too lazy to remove it before painting. It worked like a charm.
It was the best can of spray paint I have ever bought, they really look sharp. The pumpkins on the two smaller pots were an afterthought, but it adds a festive, fun look to the porch.

I, too,did a lot of spray painting for my fall porch containers and paint really makes everything look wonderful. Your porch looks beautiful and elegant. Your mom is proud, I'm sure.
LOVE YOUR PORCH! And I LOVE what you did! Great job... simply glorious!
They look great and I'm sure when the mums pop that yellow will look fantastic against the black. I spray painted a large pot I had that was looking real tired {terra cotta colored} and it looks like it got a new life!
