Black or White?

When in doubt, I paint things black. One of my dearest friends (that has better taste than I do), paints everything white. Not sure which is right, if indeed there is a right or wrong, not that it really matters anyways considering there are people starving to death in the world. But since we just finished painting our bedroom french doors white, and then the next week we changed our minds and decided to paint them black...its got me thinking about such things.
Yes, we are still house touring around here...check out these photos with black inspiration and next time I'll show you what I have been brushing with black paint.

How about you? Do you paint in white or black?

Black. Always. Furniture, Laundry room cupboards, consoles... all black. I think it has a feeling of sophistication, but still comfortable. For some reason, white screams I can't touch you (even though it looks beautiful).

Black, although I have tried to break out of my shell and do some white lately. My son told me I must be going through a goth phase after I painted our shutters black along with our front door, the desk in the family room...and my builder looked at me very strangley when I painted the french doors going out to our deck black on the inside!

Black. I think it has a clean look to it. We ripped up the carpet in our formal living room and painted the floor black. It looks great. Todd was a little unsure at first but pleasantly pleased with the results. Once I get it furnished and decorated I'll post pics.

black.....and i am s.l.o.w.l.y getting my hubby to agree. he thinks all trim and such should be white, i don't agree with mainstream.

I'm always more comfortable going with black but I love, love, love all of the white I've seen going on in blogland. Maybe I'll try it soon.

Black!!!!! I remember reading somewhere in a design book in college that every room should have a touch of black. Well, I probably take that to the extreme and put too many black "touches" in each room. I am planning to paint my front door black once it warms up here and have black applainces, even though stainless is "cool!"

I would say black and anytime a friend of mine has an old piece that needs painting, I suggest black; however, here is an all white kind of girl: http://www.inthefunlane.com/

For Cheryl above, I agree... show pics! This may be overkill, I tend to paint EVERYTHING black, but here are some ideas:

Hello there!!! I have always painted things white, but am moving into the black zone and can't wait to paint something black! We are having a built in done and I want to paint it black, but my husband is not going for it, so I may have to start small!
