A weekend to sew

Yes, we loaded up the minivan with too much fabric; and yes, we really thought we were going to use it all. Yes, we take messy to new levels of messy.Yes, we had five machines set-up; and yes the one whose beach house we were in owns the world's most amazing and magical serger that has ever been created.Yes, she and the Sassy Seamstress stayed awake sewing until 5:30 am, woke up and started again at 8:30 am, and yet at some point during the night still managed to cook sausage .Yes, she knew and sang every song from the "Music of the 90's" tv channel.Yes, I fell asleep on the sofa at 10:00.Yes, we ate Krispy Kreme doughnuts.Yes, she ate too many.Yes, we created our own patterns.Yes, we left with a lot of great outfits for our kids.

And yes, I intend on buying a Toyota Sienna solely based on the awesomeness of this ad campaign...we laughed about the Swagger Wagon all weekend.

That looks like SO MUCH FUN! I totally wish I could get my girlfriends together for something like this. But wait--none of my girlfriends sew! They have no idea what they are missing out on....they could be getting away for the weekend, if they only knew how to sew! I'm going to have to try that argument on them.

GGGRRRREEEEAAATTT post...i knew taking the easy way and linking to you would be the way to do it. but you forget to say, "and yes, we neglected hair and make up the entire weekend." What an awesome weekend it was.

Looks like a blast! Not only did you have fun with the girls, but now you have adorable outfits for the girls!!! I wish I could sew. I have tried and it isn't pretty. Pillows were hard for me!! Your friend needs to L-A-Y O-F-F the Krispy Kremes, if you know what I mean!!! I spelled it out so she wouldn't understand it, oh wait! She isn't four!!!!! So sweet. I love pregnant bellies! So glad you had a great time!

That video is the bomb! I actually really like those new Siennas. They're not very van-ish. To me, they look very much like the Chevy Traverse or the Acadia.

Now, sewing isn't really my thang, but I do love me a Krispy Creme donut and it looks like you had some fun girl time. I can't believe all the great things you made! Very cool!

I am officially inspired! A few months back, we ordered a bunch of fabric to make window treatments. I was scared, so I decided to start with simple throw pillows with cording and a zipper. They turned out adorably! The world of sewing is opening up to me. I think I am ready to conquer the window treatments! Hope all is well with you all! Love the blog. Why have I not read it until now???
