I told you I was gonna do it: A Crafty Room Reveal

Rhoda over at Southern Hospitality is featuring my little man's bedroom today for her "Feature Friday" series. If you are visiting me here today from Southern Hospitality, I am so glad you are here...it is an honor for me to have your company!

And now, drum roll please....my sewing/craft room that has been monopolizing far too much of my time for the past month is finally done! Do I need to refresh your memory about the time I said I was so totally creating my own crafting space? Click here to see my inspiration. Well I was serious about that. I converted my 12 ft. / 10 ft. guest bedroom into a room that makes sense for my family. We had 2 guest bedrooms, and I decided to claim one as a room for my girls and I to play in. Won't you please join me for a walk through...
Tell me my cute carpenter is not the smartest man alive! Can you deal with that wrapping paper / ribbon holder thingy?!?!
I converted an old, empty frame into an inspiration board using chicken wire...
Can I get an Amen?
My armoire, an antique store find, was painted and made into storage for fabric and paint...
And now a photographic tour of my carpenter's work. We started with this...

These are the clips he decided on to hold the dowels in place...
See:
By sliding the clip to the side, I am able to remove the dowel and change out my paper or ribbon...
Here was the armoire before I painted her white...

And this is her now, she cleaned up nicely...
Love the chicken wire concept, it was cheap and easy...
My tole chandelier, a consignment store find...
I like making clothes for my girls...
More armoire storage space...
A few details:
After I sewed the panels for the room, they seemed a little too plain. So I added a ruffle at the top...
One of my favorite Montremart prints from Paris, where all the real artists work, and where I could live out the rest of my days...
This is my grandmother's dining room table and chairs, I painted them all white...
And a few funky thrift store lights...
My name is Amy, and I hoard ribbon...
On that note, happy weekend to you all. My girls and I intend on being crafty this weekend in our new room...I wish you were here too.
Linking up today with Life in the Fun Lane...one of the coolest girls in blogger land.

Jaw drop. Gorgeous, gorgeous Amy!! The best part is by far the fact that there is a space in your home to be free, imaginative, and draw closer to your kids! Oh let the creative juices flow....

Wow, can I borrow your man for a few days?? Love that wrapping paper/ribbon holder! Love the entire room - in fact I could just move right in and start crafting away!

I wish I had a room I could dedicate as a craft room. For now (and probably the rest of my life!) I just have to use the kitchen table and deal with the mess!

Thanks for sharing, your craft room is lovely!

Amy! I would say I don't have words for how beautiful this is but that would be lying because I always have PLENTY of words! :-) It is so incredibly inspiring and gorgeous and I am having serious "craft room envy" which is ironic considering my post today is about how I am not Crafty! I would love to invite you to link this up to my "Inspiration Friday" party at my blog. I think this is so unique and I think folks would be incredibly Inspired by your creativity!

Great idea using the screen clips. Don't be too hard on yourself when it comes to ribbon. I might be worse...ugh! I so saw myself when I read that line here.
There must be something in the air because you are I think the 4th person I've seen this week including myself who has done a craft space/room/workshop redo. Everything looks great and I'm sure you're excited about messing it all up now...lol.

Whatan inspiring space! We've always used our guest bedroom as a craft room. My girls' friends always want to know where thep playroom is.don't have one, but a craft room beats a playroom any day! :)

Isn't it fun to work in projects with your husband?

Enjoy your weekend!

Looks wonderful!! I so envy you girl! I have yet to be able to carry out my sewing room redo. I have a few other projects I need to finish first and a few more things I would like to collect for it before hand as well. I am loving your room and that you included your grandmother's furniture for you and your girls to spread out and have fun!
